About Our Club
Established in 1971, Barisha Tarun Tirtha Club is a distinguished community organisation that serves as an essential cornerstone of unity, solidarity, and progressive social development for the residents of the Muradpur region. Guided by the deep-rooted empathy, goodwill, and cooperation of the local populace, the club has consistently assumed a pioneering role in executing vital humanitarian, educational, and recreational initiatives over its long journey.
Demonstrating an enduring commitment to public welfare, it has successfully operated an Anganwadi Child Learning Centre for four decades, providing fundamental primary education to underprivileged children every morning. To promote health and discipline, the club actively fosters holistic youth development through structured sports programs. These include a state-affiliated Table Tennis Coaching Academy launched in 2019, as well as formal boxing and volleyball teams that maintain official affiliations under the Bengal Table Tennis, Boxing, and Volleyball Associations, respectively.
Furthermore, the club orchestrates competitive annual sports meets, popular short-hand knockout cricket tournaments, and extensive cultural festivals, such as especially Durga Puja, featuring celebrated personalities, thereby reinforcing strong communal bonds. Deeply committed to the celebration of national pride, Barisha Tarun Tirtha regularly commemorates significant historical occasions such as Independence Day and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, Gandhi Jayanti, Republic Day while hosting state-wide sit-and-draw and cultural recitation competitions to honour literary icons like Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Beyond its cultural and athletic feats, the organisation leads impactful healthcare drives by conducting annual blood donation camps, comprehensive medical check-up clinics (featuring specialized eye, ear, and ECG examinations), and health awareness seminars. Its philanthropic reach extends to distributing clothing to disadvantaged women and children during the Durga Puja festival, alongside maintaining a dedicated emergency social fund. This reserve proved critical during recent crises, funding a multi-day relief camp that provided essential food supplies to approximately 350 families during the severe dual impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and Cyclone Amphan. Cultivating environmental consciousness, the club hosts yearly tree plantation and sapling distribution initiatives, while preserving local traditions through vibrant ‘Basanta Utsav’ morning processions.
